I sent in a Rolex Datejust that had been sitting unworn for about eight years. The movement had lost a significant amount of amplitude and was running poorly. Rauf's assessment was thorough — he explained what was happening and what the service would involve before asking me to commit. The watch came back running within a few seconds a day and the written timing results were a nice touch. I did not feel like I was being sold anything at any stage.

My grandfather's Omega Seamaster — manual wind, fairly old — needed attention. I was nervous about sending it anywhere because I had heard stories about dials being polished when they shouldn't have been. Zahir spent time with me explaining their approach to vintage pieces before I even agreed to leave it. The result respected what was original. The dial looks its age, which was exactly what I wanted. The process took longer than expected — around five weeks — but I was kept informed throughout.

I had the case and bracelet on my Panerai Luminor refinished after some significant scratching from regular wear. What impressed me was how they handled the lugs — they stayed crisp, which is where a lot of places go wrong. Nurul clearly understood the original finish intent. The result was clean without looking like a polished-to-death department store piece. Good communication, fair pricing for the standard of work.

Brought in a 1960s Longines automatic — family piece, so I was cautious. The dossier they produced for it was genuinely useful: photographs before and after, notes on what they found inside, parts they replaced and why. For a watch with sentimental and some potential collector value, that kind of documentation matters. The movement now runs well within acceptable vintage tolerances. Highly attentive throughout.

Sent in my IWC Ingenieur for a routine movement service. Nothing dramatically wrong with it, just hadn't been opened in a while. Turnaround was close to six weeks, which I was told upfront so no issue. The price came in as quoted. The timing results showed it was regulating very well, which matched what I've observed since getting it back. Would recommend for anyone who wants proper work done rather than a quick fix.

I came in not entirely sure what was wrong — the watch was stopping intermittently. The initial consultation was free of charge and they diagnosed the issue clearly without making me feel pressured to proceed immediately. When I did agree to the service, it was done within the agreed timeframe. They returned the original worn mainspring along with the watch, which I appreciated — it felt like they respected that the watch was mine, not just a job to get through.

Three Service Journeys

These case summaries describe the process from first contact to return, as experienced by three of our clients.

A Vintage Heuer Carrera Chronograph

Collector Stewardship · 14 weeks from intake to return

The Situation

A 1967 Heuer Carrera ref. 2447 with a column-wheel Valjoux 72 movement. The chronograph had stopped functioning and the movement showed signs of dried lubricants and a broken reset spring. The original pump pushers and dial were intact.

The Work

Full disassembly of the Valjoux 72, part-by-part inspection, replacement of the reset spring with a period-sourced component from a donor movement, ultrasonic cleaning, relubrication, and regulation. Dial and hands were not touched. The pusher gaskets were replaced. Case returned with brushed finish conserved.

The Result

Chronograph function restored. Movement running at +6 seconds per day in dial-up position — within typical vintage tolerance. Client received a 12-page condition dossier with photographs and part documentation. The watch was offered at auction 3 months later and sold above estimate.

"I was expecting them to suggest a dial replacement. They never did. That told me everything about how they approach vintage work." — Client, Ampang, KL

A Modern Patek Philippe Calatrava

Movement Service · 5 weeks

The Situation

A ref. 5227 with a manual-wind calibre 215 PS. The watch was running approximately 25 seconds fast per day and the power reserve had reduced noticeably. Last service was over eight years prior.

The Work

Complete movement service — disassembly, component cleaning, mainspring replacement, relubrication to Patek's published specifications, and five-position regulation over four days. The condition of the movement at disassembly was photographed and noted in the condition report.

The Result

Rate on return: +2 seconds per day dial-up; within ±5 seconds across positions. Full power reserve restored. Client noted that the winding action felt noticeably smoother than prior to service — a common result of a thorough keyless works cleaning.

A 1980s Seiko Diver with Mixed-Finish Case

Case & Bracelet Refinishing · 3 weeks

The Situation

An early 1980s Seiko 6309 diver with heavy scratching on the case flanks and bracelet. The bezel insert remained in good condition. The owner wanted the scratches addressed without the case losing the distinctly utilitarian character of the original brushed finish.

The Work

Case disassembly, bracelet link-by-link brushing using directional strokes matched to the original finish. Polished chamfers on the case were treated separately and restored without disrupting the brushed zones. Gaskets replaced. Basic water resistance check performed.

The Result

Scratches significantly reduced; the watch no longer looks neglected but retains the working-tool appearance the owner valued. The bracelet no longer has the rough, abrasive feel from the scratched links. Client described it as looking "like the early 80s, not like new."

"I specifically said I didn't want it polished. They understood exactly what that meant, which not everyone does." — Client, Shah Alam
