Acceptance of Terms

Engagement with our services is open to individuals aged 18 years and above who possess the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements under Malaysian law. If you are acting on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
Where you do not agree with any provision of these Terms, we respectfully ask that you refrain from using our website or services and contact us directly to discuss your concerns.
Service Description
Pusaka Horology provides specialist horological services from our workshop in Kuala Lumpur. Our primary offerings encompass three service pathways:
- Movement Service & Timing Restoration — full calibre overhaul, cleaning, lubrication, and precision regulation.
- Case & Bracelet Refinishing — surface restoration respecting original manufacturer finishing techniques.
- Vintage & Collector Piece Stewardship — conservation-focused care for pieces of historical or collector significance.
Services are conducted at our Kuala Lumpur workshop and are available to clients across Malaysia and by prior arrangement for international consignments. We reserve the right to decline a service request if the scope of work falls outside our current capacity or expertise, in which case we will advise you accordingly.
Availability is subject to workshop capacity. We operate on a structured intake process and do not commit to immediate commencement of work.
Quotations & Estimates
Published pricing on our website reflects the base scope for each service category. A formal written proposal is issued following the initial assessment of your timepiece, which constitutes the binding quotation for your specific work.
Estimates for timeline and cost are made in good faith based on the information available at the time of assessment. If additional work is identified during disassembly or if sourcing of period-correct components proves more involved than anticipated, we will communicate any revision to scope and cost before proceeding.
No additional work beyond the agreed scope will be carried out without your written confirmation.
User Responsibilities
As a client, you undertake to:
- Provide accurate information regarding the provenance, history, and known condition of your timepiece.
- Disclose any prior repairs, modifications, or replacement components to the best of your knowledge.
- Ensure that the timepiece you deliver for service is your own property or that you have authority to commission work on it.
- Collect or arrange collection of your timepiece within 30 days of notification that work is complete, unless an extension has been agreed in writing.
- Use this website only for lawful purposes and refrain from any conduct that could interfere with its operation or security.
Prohibited activities include submitting false information, attempting to access restricted areas of the website, or engaging in any conduct that is unlawful under Malaysian law or harmful to other parties.
Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, photography, technical descriptions, and visual design — is the intellectual property of Pusaka Horology or used under appropriate licence. You may not reproduce, distribute, or adapt this content without prior written consent.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and view this website for personal, non-commercial purposes only. This licence does not extend to systematic extraction of content, automated scraping, or commercial republication of any material.
Photographs or documentation of your timepiece produced during the service process remain the property of Pusaka Horology and may be used for internal record-keeping and, with your consent, for portfolio or educational purposes. We will not publish identifiable images of your timepiece without your explicit agreement.
Payment Terms
All prices are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Payment is due in full upon collection of the completed timepiece, or as otherwise specified in your written proposal.
For complex restorations or projects with extended timelines, a deposit of up to 50% of the estimated total may be requested prior to commencement of work. This will be clearly stated in the written proposal.
Payment methods accepted include bank transfer and major debit or credit cards. We do not store payment card information. Where a deposit has been paid and a client elects not to proceed after work has commenced, the deposit may be applied against costs incurred up to that point.
In the event of non-collection within 60 days of notification that work is complete, and following reasonable attempts to contact the client, storage fees of MYR 30 per week may apply thereafter.
Service-Specific Terms
Movement Service & Timing Restoration
Completion is typically four to six weeks from commencement. A written condition report documenting pre-service state, work performed, and timing results will be issued upon return. Where worn components are replaced, removed parts will be returned with the timepiece on request.
Case & Bracelet Refinishing
Completion is typically two to four weeks. Where a client requests conservation of existing patina rather than full refinishing, this preference will be documented and strictly followed. Clients should note that surface finishing is irreversible; we encourage careful consideration of original vs. restored aesthetics before confirming scope.
Vintage & Collector Piece Stewardship
Timelines vary considerably and may extend from two to six months depending on parts sourcing and work complexity. A condition dossier, including photographic documentation and written notes, will accompany the returned timepiece. Period-correct parts will be sourced through established networks, and the client will be informed of sourcing options and costs before any parts are acquired.
Disclaimers
Pusaka Horology provides horological services with care and professional diligence. However, the nature of mechanical watchmaking means that outcomes can be affected by the prior condition of a timepiece, the availability of appropriate components, and the inherent limitations of working with aged mechanisms.
We do not make representations regarding the future market value of a timepiece following service. Collector pieces are subject to complex market dynamics, and our role is to support the preservation of the timepiece's mechanical integrity, not to influence its monetary value.
Information provided on our website is for general guidance only. It does not constitute technical advice for individual timepieces. We encourage you to contact us directly for a proper assessment of your specific piece.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted under Malaysian law, Pusaka Horology's liability arising from or in connection with any service shall not exceed the value of the fees paid by the client for that specific service.
We shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including any alleged diminution in the market value of a timepiece, loss of sentimental value, or costs arising from delays beyond our reasonable control (including parts sourcing delays, natural events, or disruptions to postal or courier services).
In the rare event of accidental damage occurring while a timepiece is in our care, we will communicate the situation promptly and in good faith, and will work with the client to identify an appropriate resolution.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pusaka Horology, its staff, and associates from any claims, losses, or costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your misrepresentation of ownership or authority over a timepiece, or any unlawful conduct on your part in connection with your engagement with our services or website.
Termination
Either party may withdraw from a service engagement prior to commencement of work, with reasonable written notice. Where a deposit has been paid and work has not commenced, the deposit will be refunded in full.
Once work has commenced, the client may request to halt the service. In such cases, costs incurred up to that point will be invoiced, and the timepiece will be returned in its current state, together with any documentation generated during the process.
Pusaka Horology reserves the right to decline or discontinue a service engagement if information provided proves materially inaccurate, or if continued work would pose an unreasonable risk to the timepiece or staff.
Provisions relating to intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution shall survive any termination of the service agreement.
Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from or in connection with your engagement with Pusaka Horology shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
We encourage an informal resolution process as the first step. If you have a concern, please contact us at [email protected] with a clear description of the issue. We aim to respond within five working days and to reach a mutually acceptable resolution wherever possible.
Where informal resolution is not achieved within 30 days, either party may pursue their legal remedies. Nothing in this section limits your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 (Malaysia) or other applicable Malaysian legislation.
General Provisions
Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with any written service proposal issued to you, constitute the entire agreement between you and Pusaka Horology regarding your engagement with our services.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms on any occasion shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or our right to enforce it in the future.
Assignment. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our obligations to a suitable successor in the event of a change in business structure, without prejudice to your rights.
Notices. Formal notices to Pusaka Horology should be sent by email to [email protected] or by post to our workshop address.
Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms periodically to reflect changes in our services, applicable law, or operational practice. The revised Terms will be published on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
Where changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify clients with active service engagements by email. Continued use of our website or services following publication of revised Terms shall constitute your acceptance of those revisions.
We recommend reviewing this page occasionally to remain informed of the current Terms.
